Man shot multiple times Sunday morning, suspect at large

A man is in critical condition after being shot multiple times at Omar’s Bar, 1404 Broadway St., early  Sunday morning, Dec. 22, following a dispute with another individual. 
According to a statement from Port Lavaca Police Chief Colin Rangnow, officers responded to the incident at approximately 1:30 a.m. and found the victim wounded. Rangnow said that the suspect shot the victim multiple times before fleeing. 
“From what we can determine, there was an argument inside the bar,” Rangnow said. “One individual was leaving following the disagreement and the other party had a gun and wound up shooting him multiple times before fleeing in a car.” 
Calhoun County EMS was called to the scene and the victim was transported to Memorial Medical Center in critical condition before being life-flighted out of the county for additional care. The assailant remains at large. Information can be reported to the Port Lavaca Police Department at 361-552-3788.
