Historic lighthouse to open for Christmas festivities and food drive

Halfmoon Reef Lighthouse is decked out for the holidays. The Cuellar, Baker and Grissom families adopted the lighthouse as part of the Port Lavaca Chamber of Commerce Adopt-A-Spot program. Inside a tree forest has been sponsored by area organizations. Attendees can bring a non-perishable item and vote on their favorite tree. The lighthouse is open from 6 to 9 p.m. nightly.
