Joyce Hilda Jetton
Joyce Hilda Jetton, 82, of Port Lavaca passed away July 23, 2024. She was born August 22, 1941 in Edna, Texas to Herman and Esther Schneider. Joyce graduated from Calhoun High School and then attended the University of New Orleans and majored in Art History. She loved spending time studying art history, bead research, beading, making jewelry, and reading. Joyce enjoyed collecting shells while walking on the beach. She worked as a financial bookkeeper for Champ Traylor Memorial Hospital, then she moved to New Orleans, and then Miami. When she moved back to Port Lavaca, she went to work at Days Inn until her retirement.
She is survived by her second ex-husband, Glenn Jetton; sisters, Linda Cox (Gregory) and Sandra Spivey (Warren); sister-in-law, Gail Schneider; niece, Melissa Cox (Jimmy Daboul); nephew, Clay Spivey; nephew, Junior Spivey (Jessica); niece, Kelli Richards (Duane); nephew, Brett Schneider (Elizabeth); and nephew, Chad Schneider (Colleen).
She was preceded in death by her son, Robert William Henley Jr.; ex-husband, Robert Henley Sr.; parents; and brother, Gene Schneider.
Visitation will be held Tuesday, August 6, 2024 from 10-11 a.m. at Richardson-Colonial Funeral Home followed by funeral services at 11 a.m. in the chapel with Pastor Nancy Jaster officiating. Burial will follow in Greenlawn Gardens.
