Port Lavaca man charged with murder
An Arizona man is dead and a Port Lavaca man is behind bars and charged with murder, following an arrest made by Port Lavaca Police Department (PLPD) officers Thursday, March 13.
Aye Win, 44, of Port Lavaca was charged with the murder of Tai Romano, 65, by PLPD, following an officer response to several dropped 911 calls.
PLPD officers responded to the call at approximately 1:50 p.m. and arrived at the Bordeaux Apartments, located in the 1700 block of North Virginia Street. Upon arrival, the officers discovered an Asian male covered in blood inside the apartment.
According to a PLPD press release, the officers discovered an additional Asian male unresponsive within the apartment with multiple stab wounds and subsequently detained Win.
“Upon further investigation, officers determined Win stabbed Tai Romano multiple times, causing his impending death,” Port Lavaca Police Chief Colin Rangnow said.
Win was later booked into the Calhoun County Jail for murder. This is an ongoing investigation.
