Sandies take second at Beeville meet; Next meet at Seguin

CONTRIBUTED Photo Sandies powerlifters show off their latest hardware, the second place trophy earned over weekend at the Beeville Trojan Invitational. The Calhoun girls will lift at Sequin this week, and already have 16 girls qualified for Regionals.

The Sandie powerlifting swept team honors and also captured some individual accolades during the Fourth Annual Marvin Allen Invitational Meet at Somerset on Saturday. The Sandies took first place in the team standings with 68 points. Zailey Cano was named the Overall Upperclass Lifter, while Sandie Head Coach Jason Bagwell was named Outstanding Coach of the event.
