Thomas Abraham Romo
Thomas Abraham Romo, 67, of Clarkrange, TN, passed away on December 12, 2024, at Blue Ridge Hospice in Winchester, VA. He was born on December 21, 1956, in Port Lavaca, TX, to Raymond and Helen Lara Romo.
A devoted Christian, Romo accepted Jesus Christ as his Savior and was an active member of Word of Life Ministries in Stephenson, VA. His faith and love for others were evident throughout his life.
Romo graduated from Calhoun High School in 1975 and soon discovered his passion for welding. He worked tirelessly to obtain his own rig, which allowed him to travel the country working on large pipeline projects. His work took him to many places, and along the way, he made lifelong friends. Romo was known for his friendly, outgoing nature he never met a stranger, and his warmth and generosity touched the lives of all who knew him.
He is survived by his loving wife, Barbara Bain Romo of Clarkrange, TN; daughters Cynthia (Tim) Hancock of Byrdstown, TN, and Jennifer (Juan) Cobos of Port Lavaca, TX; sons Thomas (LeighAnne) Romo of Catlett, VA, and Jeremy Romo of Port Lavaca, TX; nine grandchildren, Alexandra Prince, Tameron Cobos, Kristen Smallwood, Alyssa Cobos, Amelie Trevino Romo, Landen Romo, Masyn Romo, Thomas Romo, and Helen Romo; two great-granddaughters, Adalynn Cobos and Vivian Prince; and his siblings, Susan, Carmen, Patricia, and Patrick.
Romo was preceded in death by his parents, Raymond and Helen Romo; his granddaughter, Desiree Smallwood.
A celebration of his life will be held at a later date in Port Lavaca, TX. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to Word of Life Ministries in his memory.
Romo’s legacy of faith, kindness, and hard work will live on in the hearts of all who knew him.
