It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Joyce Ann Holub on October 31,2024, at the age of 86. Joyce was born December 8, 1937 in Damon, Tx., to Aubrey and Gertrude Fishbeck Gibson.
Joyce graduated Lamar Consolidated High School in 1956 and worked as a full time "Mom" and co-owner of Orchard Service Station in Orchard, Texas with her first husband. Joyce spent many hours growing vegetable plants and flowers throughout her life and in later years enjoyed making silk flower arrangements for the community and her church.
Joyce was preceded in death by her parents, her first husband Ray Hundl; her second husband and companion of 42 years, Lester W. Holub; her son Kenneth W. Hundl; sister, Doris Marie Vacek; and brother, James Forrest Gibson.
She is survived by sons, Ray Hundl Jr. and wife Denise of Missouri City, Texas; James F. Hundl of Rosenberg, Texas; Eugene P. Hundl of Olivia, Texas; and daughter Ann Lawler and husband Bob of Port Lavaca, Texas. Her grandchildren are Angela Hundl of San Antonio, Texas; Jennifer St. Romain and husband Jonathan of Houston, Texas; Payton Hundl of Sugar Land, Texas; James Walker Hundl of Spring, Texas; Susan De La Garza of Point Comfort,
Texas; Jason Pahmiyer and wife Courtney of Victoria, Texas. Great-grandchildren are Trent De La Garza of Beeville, Texas; Gavin De La Garza of Point Comfort, Texas; Evangeline St. Romain of Houston, Texas; Duncan and Finley Pahmiyer of Victoria, Texas.Joyce is also survived by her sister-in-law Evelyn Gibson Bear of Lake Jackson, Texas.
Memorial services were held at Grace Funeral Chapel in Port Lavaca and Bayside Community Church in Olivia, Texas.
In lieu of flowers, Joyce requested donations in her name be made to: Bayside Community Church, 25080 Highway 172, Port Lavaca, Texas 77979
