Kun-Ming Chen

Kun-Ming Chen, 75, of Port Lavaca passed away October 11, 2024.  He was born December 2, 1948 in Taiwan to Min Chen and Fu-Ron Lin Chen.  Mr. Chen worked as an engineer for Formosa and was a member of St. Ann’s Catholic Church in Point Comfort and Our Lady of the Gulf Catholic Church in Port Lavaca.

He is survived by his loving wife, Hsiu-Hung “Lucy” Chen; daughters, Wendy Chan (Stanley), Katie Chong (John); son, Fr. Tommy Chen; grandchildren, Andrew Chong (Soon), Anna Farlow (Jeff), Alexander Chong, Caleb Chan, Kolbe Chan, and Bella Grace Chan; and great-grandchildren, Cayden and Luka Chong.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

A rosary will be recited at Our Lady of the Gulf Catholic Church at 9:30 a.m. on Saturday, October 26, 2024.  Funeral Mass will follow at 10 a.m. with The Most Reverend Brendan J. Cahill, Bishop of the Diocese of Victoria officiating.  Private family burial will be held at Resurrection Cemetery in Victoria on Sunday, October 27, 2024.

In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to Our Lady of the Gulf Catholic Church, 415 W Austin, Port Lavaca, TX  77979.
