Rosie Flores Venecia

Rosie Flores Venecia, 88, of Port Lavaca passed away September 25, 2024.  She was born July 11, 1936 in Lockhart to Andres Flores Sr. and Gregoria Saenz Flores.  She was a business owner, Houston Astros fan, and member of Our Lady of the Gulf Catholic Church.

She is survived by her children, Hector L. Venecia, Flavio Venecia Jr (Dolores), Victor L. Venecia (Elizabeth), Agustin Venecia (Amanda), and Lisa Fredericksen (Victor); brother, Enrique “Ricky” Flores; 15 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; and 1 great-great-grandchild.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Flavio Venecia Sr.; parents; sister, Mary Hernandez; and brothers, Andres Flores Jr., Leonardo Flores, and Adeliado Flores.

Visitation will be held Monday, September 30, 2024 from 5-7 p.m. followed by a rosary at 7 p.m. at Richardson-Colonial Funeral Home.  Funeral Mass will be Tuesday, October 1, 2024 at 10 a.m. at Our Lady of the Gulf Catholic Church with Father Tommy Chen officiating.  Burial will follow in Greenlawn Gardens.

Pallbearers will be Hector Venecia, Flavio Venecia Jr., Victor Venecia, Agustin Venecia, Hector Venecia II,  Victor Venecia Jr., Vincent Fredericksen, and Victor Fredericksen.  Honorary pallbearers are  Aaron Luna, Robert “Bobby” Flores, Rudy Loya and Hector Paz “HP” Longoria.
