Minerva A. Pina, age 68, of Port Lavaca, Texas, entered eternal rest on Monday, September 2, 2024. She was born in Port Lavaca, Texas to Lucy S. Pina and the late, Joe G. Pina. She is survived by her mother, Lucy S. Pina; sister, Mary Ester Ortiz (David Sr.); nephews, David Ortiz Jr. (Krystin), Derek Ortiz (Irene), Darin Ortiz (Sabrina); and Drew Ortiz; her partner of 11 years, Joe L. Reyes; 4 great nieces and 2 great-nephews; and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, other family members and many friends. She is preceded in death by her father, Joe G. Pina, maternal grandparents, Candelario and Adella Sanchez; paternal grandparents, Basilio and Cecilia G. Pina. Visitation will be held on Friday, September 13, 2024 from 5:00PM to 8:00PM with the Holy Rosary to be prayed at 7:00PM at Grace Funeral Chapel, 1604 W. Austin St., Port Lavaca. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, September 14, 2024 at 11:00AM at Our Lady of the Gulf Catholic Church, 415 W. Austin St., Port Lavaca. Interment to follow at Port Lavaca Cemetery, 500 Martin Luther King Drive, Port Lavaca.
Honoring Minerva as Pallbearers will be Michael Pina, Jimmie Pina, Jr., Roy Pina, Richard Sanchez, Dylan Ortiz, and Greg Muniz. Honorary Pallbearers are Lupe Pina, David Ortiz, Jr., Derek Ortiz, Darin Ortiz, and Drew Ortiz. Memorial Contributions may be made in Minervaʼs name to Hospice of South Texas Dornburg Center of Compassion, 1005 Mallette Dr., Victoria, Texas 77904, and Our Lady of the Gulf Catholic Church, 415 W. Austin St., Port Lavaca, Texas 77979.
