Carol Boyd
Carol Boyd, 83 yrs old, passed peacefully from this life on September 2, 2024. She was born in Madisonville, Texas to the late Graham Gray and Bonnie Ruth Gray and raised in Crosby, Texas. She was happily married to her devoted husband, Cecil (Slick) Boyd for over 66 years.
In addition to her parents, Carol was preceded in death by her step-granddaughter, Rebekah Hoover.
Carol is survived by her four children, Johnny Boyd (Lisa), Judy Ledwig (Charlie), Jimmy Boyd (Cindy) and Joy Streitman. She also leaves behind two grandchildren, Hannah and Matthew Streitman and her beloved sister, Linda Carlisle. She is also survived by her step granddaughter, Angela Rock, and her precious children, Rebekah’s children, as well as many nieces and nephews.
Carol spent many years working in private Christian Schools, and at one time owned a Christian bookstore in Port Lavaca, Tx. This was just a few ways that she shared her faith and love of God with others.
More than anything else, what brought Carol the most joy was spending time with her family. She adored the fun times with her grandchildren, spending countless hours playing card games, building Gingerbread houses, and hearing stories about what was going on in their lives. She was so proud of them and their accomplishments. Carol always looked forward to visits with her sister throughout the years. Carol had the best daughters-in -love (Cindy and Lisa) and son-in- love (Charlie), that she had a special bond with even up until her final hours.
Carol had a deep faith that was truly unmatched. She was a strong woman of God and was a constant witness to the Lord’s sovereignty over her own life. She loved worshipping the Lord, by reading her bible, going to church, and sharing the word of God with bible study groups. She was undoubtedly a testament of Christ’s love in the way that she loved and cared for others.
There are no words to describe the loss of Carol from our lives. It brings comfort to those who loved her dearly, that she is rejoicing with the Lord in heaven.
