Contributed photo HJM Elementary School first grade teacher Macileigh Burris was awarded a grant from Nueces Electric Cooperative. With some of the funds, she purchased an aquarium for the class pet, Miss Piggy. Burris said her students were so happy once it was set up and they released Miss Piggy from her cup to her new home. The students take turns feeding and caring for her daily as part of the science TEKS curriculum. Pictured are students observing Miss Piggy in her new habitat.
