One woman is dead following a two-vehicle crash Saturday, Aug. 30 at the intersection of State Highway 35 and Farm to Market Road 2541.
In a report issued by the Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS), the crash occurred at 4:10 a.m. and involved a 2010 Toyota RAV 4, driven by 25-year-old Christina Diamond Ann Duran, and a 2022 Chevrolet Silverado, driven by 19-year-old Jeremiah Xavier Perez. According to the accident report, Duran was declared deceased at the scene while Perez was transported to Christus Spohn Shoreline Hospital in a stable condition, but with serious injuries.
According to the report, Duran was traveling westbound on Highway 35 while Perez was traveling east. For reasons still cited as “under investigation” by the report, Duran was traveling on the wrong side of the roadway and crashed head-on into Perez. Both vehicles then came to rest in the east lane of travel.
The fatal crash is still under investigation by DPS State Troopers.
