Glynda Kay (Decker) Gresham 72, of Port Lavaca, Tx passed away on April 12, 2025. She was born in Brownfield, Tx on March 23, 1953, to the late Frank and Vida Decker.
She is survived by her daughter, Tara Gresham, brother, Andy Decker (Kandace), step–brother, C.W. Thomson (Sylvia), sisters–in–law Susan Decker and Judy Thomson, and Uncle, Ed Lanious.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Michael Edwin Gresham, her parents, step–parents, Monty and Bobbie Montgomery, brother, Leland Decker, step–brothers Bryan Montgomery and Mack Thomson, sister–in–law, Sherry Montgomery, and aunt, Judi Lanious.
Glynda supported her husband Michael in Baptist ministry for 40+ years in churches at Mother Neff, Jean, Holliday, Electra, Bellmead, Schulenburg, and Port Lavaca, Tx. In addition to her pastor's wife responsibilities, she was also a substitute schoolteacher and volunteer while Tara was growing up. She loved teaching third graders in Sunday school, which she did faithfully for many years. She loved mission work and enjoyed traveling to tell others about Christ.
Glynda enjoyed laughing, games, puzzles, crafts and doing her SOAP Bible study and was known by her friends and family as a wise, prayerful, welcoming mentor. Full of faith and
Services will be held Thursday, April 17, 2025, at 10 am at First Baptist Church Port Lavaca with graveside services following at Greenlawn Cemetery. Adam Lazarine, a family friend and pastor, will be presiding.
Pallbearers are Tim McFarland, Brian Batts, Mike Bartels, Chad Dowell, Allan Schultz and Saul Gottschalt. Honorary pallbearers are First Baptist deacons: Ron Flournoy, Greg Wynn, James Duckett, Dee Harkey, Milton Remmers, Randy Jackson, Shaun Aguirre, Pat Petrisky, and Eric Teehan. In lieu of gifts and flowers, memorials may be given to First Baptist Church of Port Lavaca.
