Michelle Rhea Hilburn

Michelle is the oldest daughter of Rhea Jeanne Hilburn and Emmett Earl Hilburn (deceased). 

Michelle spent her early years in Houston, Texas and later in Port Lavaca, Texas. She graduated from Calhoun High School in Port Lavaca. 

Michelle's early career was as an Instrument Technician at Dow/Union Carbide. Later she answer the call to care for others by becoming a Licensed Physical Therapy Assistant. 

Michelle loved music, nature, animals, her pets, her family and her Lord. Michelle had a strong sense of justice and advocated for those who needed compassion and justice. She was especially fond of taking pictures of the countryside on her visits to her patients. 

Michelle is survived by her mother Rhea Jeanne Hilburn, her son Joshua Paul Mayer, her sister Kathryn Sestak, brother–in–law Peter Sestak (husband of Kathryn), several aunts, uncles, cousins and in–laws. 

Michelle dreamed of visiting Scotland with her son Joshua. In honor of that dream, we have incorporated bagpipe music into a celebration of her life,  to be held at St. Francis Episcopal Church,  Victoria Texas on 4/12/25 at 1pm.
